PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A new report says more and more young women attending college in the Pittsburgh area are signing up with controversial “Sugar Daddy” websites to help fund their education and avoid student loans.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, two Pennsylvania universities and one university in Ohio have been included on the list of the top 20 fastest-growing “Sugar Baby” schools by the website, SeekingArrangement.com.

Those schools are: Penn State, Kent State and Temple University.

The Tribune Review also reports that female students at other local schools have registered with the website – 164 at the University of Pittsburgh, 23 at Carnegie Mellon University, 12 from California University of Pennsylvania and seven from Duquesne University.

In July 2013, a billboard advertising for a similar website, ArrangementFinders.com, came under fire locally for its controversial message.

It was put up along Library Road in the Royal Place parking lot in the South Hills.

The ad featured a former adult film actress and the message, “Hey students, Need a Summer Job? Date a Sugar Daddy.”

At that time, ArrangementFinders.com said they were an exclusive service, connecting men and women looking for mutually beneficial arrangements. In this case, students who want to date a sugar daddy. In 2013, the site had more than 8,500 members from the Pittsburgh area.

According to the Tribune Review, 42 percent of SeekingArrangement.com’s 3.5 million users around the world are women enrolled in universities.
