Nutella-Stuffed French Toast
PG tested
• 2 eggs
• ¾ cup milk
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• Dash ground cinnamon
• Pinch of salt
• 4 tablespoons Nutella (or more to taste)
• 8 ¾-inch slices brioche or Italian bread
• 2 tablespoons butter for skillet
• Powdered sugar for serving
Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and salt together in large bowl until well combined.
Spread 1 tablespoon Nutella on each of 4 slices of bread. Top each with a second slice of bread, forming a Nutella sandwich.
Add butter to a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Soak 1 sandwich in egg batter for a few seconds, making sure each side is coated. Remove to skillet and fry until crisp and brown, about 2 minutes on the first side and another minute on the other.
Repeat with other sandwiches, adding more butter to pan if necessary.
Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar on top.
Serves 4.
