As CBSSports.com Baseball Writer Dayn Perry writes, along with Nelson Cruz, Ervin Santana, Brandon McCarthy and the Washington Nationals, the Pirates are amongst baseball’s biggest winners.

Perry cites the $58.5 million the Pirates paid out this offseason as one of the reasons they were able to be one of the big winners.
