Lawrenceville Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 13

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police say they have arrested a Lawrenceville man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting, threatening and stalking a 13-year-old girl.

Dustin Moffat, 32, is accused of having sex with the 13-year-old girl at his home on Denny Street in Lawrenceville.

Police were investigating him for naked pictures found on his computer. They found numbers for several of the women who appeared on his computer and contacted them. As a result, they were able to track down the 13-year-old victim.

At the time of the 2011 incident, Moffat was 28-years-old. Police said the victim lived a few doors down from him.

The victim told police she was afraid of Moffat and tried to avoid him. But, when she was 14, she claims Moffat forced her to have sex in his home again.

She also said Moffat threatened and harassed her by text message and by phone. She also accused him of stalking her and waiting near her school.

According to the criminal complaint, Moffat slapped, spit on and choked the victim after she would get off the school bus.

The victim claims she never knew that Moffat took pictures of the sexual encounters. Police say Moffat later posted those explicit pictures online.

Moffat faces a total of 29 charges, including rape, sexual abuse of children, sexual exploitation of children, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, simple assault, corruption of minors, stalking, unlawful contact with a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault.

Moffat was arrested just before 6 a.m. Tuesday at his home.

The people who live on Denny Street in Lawrenceville are sickened over Moffat's alleged actions.

"There's a special place in hell for people like that," neighbor Steve Patton said.

Patton and his girlfriend live right next door Moffat.

"The guy is not friendly at all. He was a blue collar Joe," Patton said.

"I'm horrified. I'm scared. I'm horrified and appalled," neighbor Micki Guldin said.

Neighbors never expected this, especially since they say he has a 3-year-old daughter.

Guldin has twin 12-year-old daughters, so a lot of kids spend time at the couple's home.

"I have 13, 14-year-old age girls at my house, so it's scary," Guldin said.

KDKA's Amy Wadas spoke to the victim's father off camera. He says he hopes Moffat suffers and thanked police for the work they've done.

He says his daughter is doing well and is going off to college next year.

Police say they believe there may be other victims and are urging them to call the Sex Assault/Family Crisis Unit at 412-323-7141.
