PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – More than 8,000 people were without power in Westmoreland County Monday evening.

Emergency dispatchers said that 8,500 West Penn Power customers from Greensburg to Hempfield Township, and along Route 30 to Jeannette, were without power.

Both businesses and homes were affected by the outage.

The Tribune-Review reports that the outage was caused by a pole fire around 3:40 p.m.

Officials say that power has been restored to all customers.
