Missing Dog Found After Escaping From Fayette Co. Kennel

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Fayette County teacher says her missing dog has been found.

She says the dog ran off while at a Uniontown kennel.

The dog, named Theo, disappeared on Tuesday.

Since then, the community came together to search for the dog.

Police in Fayette County even featured Theo the dog on their Crime Stoppers page.

Theo, a golden retriever mix, went missing from Joy's Doggie Bed and Biscuit on Oliver Road.

The dog's owner says Theo escaped from an outdoor fenced area.

"Not in a million years do you ever think that's going to happen," said owner Harry Kaufman. "Especially someone that's supposed to be qualified and someone who's supposed to have the right equipment and resources to do what they need to do and she did not do that."

Theo's owner also says the business feels very sorry about the accident.

"Every night we're worried about where he's sleeping or what he's had to eat that day and it's just really difficult," said Danielle Kaufman.

The Kaufman's say he was found around 3:30 p.m. They are taking him to the vet to have him checked out.
