1 Wounded In North Braddock Home Invasion

NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a violent home invasion in North Braddock Tuesday night that sent one person to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. in the 900-block of O'Connell Boulevard.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, told KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti, "I was getting ready to go out to go to the bookstore when I heard a couple of shots fired, and I wasn't quite sure what it was right away. I was going to come out and get in the car, and my son said, 'You don't want to go out, you don't wanna get shot.' So I stayed in a little longer until we saw the police pull up."

The neighbor said she saw police recover a gun from the street in front of the home where it happened.

Initially, police said the home invasion involved several masked men who fled the scene in a green Pontiac.

The shooting victim was driven to UPMC East Medical Center in Monroeville, but then was transported to UPMC Presbyterian due to the seriousness of his gunshot wound. Allegheny County Police say that person "had been involved in the robbery."

Police also say they have made two arrests in connection with the case. The suspects are identified as 21-year-old Robert Miller who is charged with aggravated assault, drug possession, and recklessly endangering another person, as well as 18-year-old Taylor Kirkland-Harvey who is charged with robbery and conspiracy.
