PWSA To Shut Off Water Service To Some Homewood Residents During Valve Replacement

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Some Homewood residents will be without water service on Wednesday and Thursday.

Officials with the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority say they will be replacing two six-inch valves on Mt. Vernon Street.

As a result, there will be no water service to some homes between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both days.

On Wednesday, homes on these streets will be affected:

7100 block of Mt. Vernon Street, even side only, from N. Lang Avenue to N. Homewood Avenue
1400 block of N. Homewood Avenue from Mt. Vernon Street to Kendron Street.

On Thursday, homes on these streets will be affected:

7100 block of Mt. Vernon Street, odd side only, from N. Lang Avenue to N. Homewood Avenue
1405 and 1407 N. Lang Avenue

Officials say they will have a flagger posted in the work zone to direct traffic.
