PWSA To Shut Off Water Service To Some Homewood Residents During Valve Replacement

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Some Homewood residents will be without water service on Wednesday and Thursday.

Officials with the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority say they will be replacing two six-inch valves on Mt. Vernon Street.

As a result, there will be no water service to some homes between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both days.

On Wednesday, homes on these streets will be affected:

  • 7100 block of Mt. Vernon Street, even side only, from N. Lang Avenue to N. Homewood Avenue
  • 1400 block of N. Homewood Avenue from Mt. Vernon Street to Kendron Street.

On Thursday, homes on these streets will be affected:

  • 7100 block of Mt. Vernon Street, odd side only, from N. Lang Avenue to N. Homewood Avenue
  • 1405 and 1407 N. Lang Avenue

Officials say they will have a flagger posted in the work zone to direct traffic.
