PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Firefighters are at the scene of a brush fire in Beaver County.

Our news partners at the Post-Gazette report the fire was called in by people living on Woodfield Drive in Hopewell. The fire reportedly started behind their home.

It’s unclear how big the fire was, but the area was consumed by thick smoke, reports the Post-Gazette.

“It wasn’t too bad at first, but it really picked up once it got towards the top of the hill,” said neighbor Austin Meuser.

Meuser said he thinks it may have started with a small camp fire.

It’s since been contained.
