Police Investigating After Man's Body Found In Mon River

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the Monongahela River in Baldwin.

The man was found Sunday afternoon after two runners say they spotted what they thought might be a body in the water.

Police have not identified him, but say he appears to be around 50 years old and had not been in the water long.

Homicide is investigating.

An autopsy is scheduled Monday and officials will determine the cause and manner of the man's death.

UPDATE (April 13, 2015) --

The Allegheny Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim 67-year-old John Flynn of Hazelwood. They are performing further tests, so the cause and manner of his death has yet to be determined.
