Pirates Fans Weigh In On Favorite Players For 2015 Season

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Twenty five men pulled on the Pirates' black and gold to start this season.

Thousands of fans love Andrew McCutchen, while others scream for Josh Harrison. Some are crazy about Pedro Alvarez or Neil Walker.

KDKA's Christine D'Antonio Reports:

However, one fan says with this team, it's impossible to pick just his favorite.

"I think it is all of them together. I think even in the interviews they have done, they have said they have a continuity going with them and that they are all in it together and they all have the same goal, so I think it's good," Tony Gratter said.

A.J. Burnett was a fan favorite in his previous tour on the North Shore. They loved his blue collar work ethic and fiery disposition on the mound.

After just one season in Philly, he is back with the Bucs.

"They have had two good years. Most of the guys are back and they fill in with a few other people, like they got Burnett back and that will help," Fred Feil said.

"I like him. I don't know how well he will do. You hope that he does well. You know that he's good for the clubhouse, he's good for the stands, the people. He's a draw. It's nice to see people behind him. Nice to see him get standing ovations when he does well. So, I think's it's a good thing," Gratter said.

KDKA's John Shumway Reports:

Regardless of who your favorite player is, fans seem to have adopted manager Clint Hurdle and made him a favorite son.

"He lets them play. They go do what they know how to do well and if they need a little finesse, he knows how to do it," one woman said.

Gates open at 11:30 a.m. for today's home opener. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m.
