Duo Arrested In Connection With At Least 50 Area Burglaries

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of burglaries in Robinson and Kennedy Townships.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Isiach Johnson and 36-year-old Jeffrey Scott Wilson Saturday night in the Swan Acres neighborhood of Ross Township.

Police said they were in a car that was stolen from Robinson Township.

"The actors excited the car wearing dark clothing," said Sgt. Ben Dripps, of Ross Township Police. "They were looking around houses, looking around other cars."

The suspects ran into the woods, but with the help of a police canine, two of them were arrested. A third man got away.

Police think the suspects may be responsible for at least 50 incidents, where items were stolen from unlocked cars.

"They had also committed a theft from another vehicle, one of the actors was in possession of drugs, and they had money from the car they broke into," said Sgt. Dripps.

Additionally, a house was burglarized and several cars were stolen.

Police are looking into other car and house break-ins in Kennedy Township as well.

Police say over the weekend, thieves drove through several Kennedy Township neighborhoods looking for easy targets.

They stole cell phones, money and small electronics – mostly from unlocked vehicles.

The suspects face a number of charges including possession of a stolen car from Robinson Township.
