Police On Lookout For Man Who Assaulted Woman Near Pitt Campus

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Authorities have issued a warning after a female student was assaulted at a bus shelter near Pitt's campus.

A warning is posted on the University's website saying it happened around 1:40 p.m. at a bus shelter on Bigelow Boulevard, near Fifth Avenue.

Police say a man "pulled her hair, pushed her down and grabbed her breast."

"I am surprised to hear that something happened and I am sad about it," said Theresa Casciato with the university.

"It's kind of scary, because I catch the bus right across the street," added Megan Victorson.

The suspect is described as an older white man who smelled like cigarette smoke and had a large stomach. He was wearing light colored jeans, a blue shirt and a blue baseball hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pitt Police at 412-624-2121.
