Man With Plastic Bag On Head Tries, And Fails, To Rob 7-Eleven
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly trying to rob a 7-Eleven with a plastic bag on his head.
It happened at the 7-Eleven on Smithfield Street downtown, just before midnight Saturday.
Police say 47-year-old Anthony Riegel, of Butler, handed a cashier a handwritten note demanding cash while wearing a white plastic bag on his head that had a hole cut out of it so he could see.
However, the employee wouldn't hand over any cash, so Riegel took off.
Police say Riegel was later spotted on 9th Street by an off-duty officer and taken into custody.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
