1 Injured In Uniontown Shooting

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) - Police are investigating a shooting in Uniontown that injured one man.

It all started early Tuesday morning when several gunshots rang out near Pershing Court.

Lorinda Jiggetts says she now has about eight bullet holes in her car and town home.

"All the sudden, we heard all kind of arguing or something, and my daughter said he's got a gun," said Jiggetts.

Uniontown Police got on scene and found a 25-year-old man from Masontown shot in the leg. He was rushed to Uniontown Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The others involved disappeared.

Residents say they're not the ones shooting up the place, most are from the city and parts unknown.

"Some of these guys you don't even know, and even if you did, what would happen? If you told the police, we'd be the next target," said Jiggetts.

Now, residents are concerned for the children that live in the community.

"Run, run for cover, hide. These are children we're talking about, all the way from toddlers on up," Jiggetts said.

Police say they recovered two weapons. One stolen, the other one they're still trying to trace.

Meanwhile, the individual that was shot apparently isn't cooperating with investigators.
