State Rep. To Introduce Bill To Allow Slot Machines At Pa. International Airports

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Anyone that has flown to Las Vegas is familiar with slot machines in the airport.

Now, a local legislator wants to add that experience for travelers at Pittsburgh International Airport.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, State Rep. Nick Kotik is working on a bill that would bring slot machines to all international airports in the state.

The machines would be installed as part of a pilot program and would only be in "secured places like boarding areas."

Being that there are two local casinos near Pittsburgh International Airport, which one would operate the machines?

Kotik's solution is a partnership between The Meadows Casino and Rivers Casino. The total number of machines has not been determined at this time.

Kotik introduced his idea during a House Gaming Oversight Committee meeting at Rivers Casino.

Rivers Casino officials said while they are intrigued by the idea, more research is required.
