PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Drones have quickly become increasingly common in many circumstances, but what about for insurance?

Our news partners at the Post-Gazette report that one of the state’s largest insurance companies plans to use drones.

Erie Indemnity Company hopes that two drones could be used to assess car accidents – and says the plan’s been approved by the FAA already.

Officials with the company say the drones will just assist human adjustors for now and have not been put to use yet. Although, the company plans to implement them this summer.
