Man Accused Of Killing Friend With Ceremonial Sword Says He Feared For His Life

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) - A man accused of having killed a friend and buried his body in a crawl space under his central Pennsylvania home says he acted in fear for his life.

Fifty-three-year-old Glen Jackson of Jersey Shore took the stand Friday in his own defense in his first-degree murder trial in Lycoming County.

He said he and 47-year-old Michael Krauser were drinking and argued over a $20 debt, and during a struggle Krauser claimed he had killed six other people and Jackson was going to be his "seventh zero."

Jackson said he hit Krauser with an ashtray and finally stabbed him with a ceremonial sword, calling it a "kill-or-be-killed situation."

Assistant District Attorney Nicole Ippolito questioned the lack of defensive wounds on the victim. Testimony is scheduled to resume Monday.
