Police Need Help Tracking Down Barefoot Burglar In Oakmont

OAKMONT (KDKA)- Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the "Barefoot Burglar" in Oakmont.

On May 28, police received a call of a burglary in progress along the 800-block of California Avenue.

Neighbors reported seeing a man knocking on the door of several homes in the area. Later, neighbors realized he had burglarized a home on the street.

"The subject was actually confronted by witnesses," said Allegheny County Police Det. Robert Opferman. "He responded with laughter and profanity, then ran into some nearby woods."

A neighbor was able to snap a picture of the suspect as he walked away.

He's described as a white man in his late 20's or early 30's. He has long, curly, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and cargo shorts, with no shoes or socks.
