Vigil Held For Little Girl Found Dead In Swissvale Ravine

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- It's been five days since a little girl was found dead in Swissvale, and while her family waits for answers as police investigate her death, community members gathered Thursday evening for a vigil.

Dozens gathered in Wilkinsburg to remember Adrionna Williams, a smiling, energetic, little girl.

They walked about three miles, and other supporters joined along the way.

"It's beautiful, but it's sad we're all here supporting a 2-year-old has passed away," said Shanita Beatty, one of the mourners.

"I'm just here to support Adrionna's mom," said another mourner.

When they reached their destination, the signs carried by the children were placed at the growing memorial where little Adrionna's body was found on Sunday.

"We no longer can take this anymore, watching our kids lay in these streets and die. They laid this baby down… She's innocent. She's pure," another mourner said.

It was a community joining forces, and waiting for answers.

Investigators have said the site where her body was found was likely not where Adrionna died. They believe her body was placed there by someone.

A preliminary autopsy is complete, but police are not releasing any details on the findings.
