Former Jeannette H.S. Coach To Stand Trial For Inappropriate Contact With 2 Students

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A former Jeannette High School wrestling coach charged with inappropriate contact with two students was in court Thursday.

Joshua Westfall, 26, is facing five different felonies in the case. Today, he was ordered to stand trial.

One incident involved a 15-year-old girl, who admitted to texting with and spending more than one night sleeping in the bed with Westfall.

In one instance, Westfall allegedly performed a sex act on the girl.

"I was sleeping in his bed upstairs, we kissed, he undressed me from the waist down," said the victim in testimony.

During the course of their investigation, a 16-year-old girl said Westfall had kissed her twice. The girl said his actions were unwanted on both occasions.

"He said he needed to use the bathroom, I showed him, I opened the door, he grabbed my waist, pulled me toward him and kissed me," said the victim.

Westfall resigned from the Jeannette wrestling program earlier this year.

"Josh has always contended that this never happened and it was concocted against him by a few girls at the high school," said defense attorney Jeff Monzo.

Westfall is facing a list of charges including deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and corruption of minors.

He is free on bond. A trial date has not been set.
