City Officials Preparing For National Night Out

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police and emergency first-responders are getting ready for Pittsburgh's "National Night Out."

On Tuesday morning, police officers, bomb squad techs and firefighters were in Downtown's Market Square.

They set up their trucks and gear to allow the public to get familiar with their faces and equipment.

"Pulling together all of our public safety resources to show residents what we have, what we can do, help people learn a little bit about what we can do, learn some preventive measures in terms of taking care of themselves," said Liz Style, of Safer Together Initiative.

The official National Night Out is set for next Tuesday, Aug. 4.
