Ramon Foster Offers Up Great James Harrison Story And Injury Update
LATROBE (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster sat down with The Fan Morning Show as the guys broadcasted live from training camp on Friday, and talked about his and his team's preparations for the 2015 season.
During the interview, Foster was asked about how the team's young guys look at James Harrison, who has gained a reputation as an insanely hard worker and workout monster, and Foster told the guys that one of them wasn't totally aware of Harrison's deal.
"It was a young guy," Foster said. "I won't say who it was ... he actually thought James was retired, and he was just here helping out. So everything that he's seen him do in the weight room, he's got to realize that that's what he's about to go through. So he was like, 'man, I thought that dude was retired and helping out!' I was like, 'no, he'll be out here real soon', and 'he's like, oh.'"
Foster is amazed by Harrison's work ethic - not to mention the fact that he never needs any help while lifting.
"You see what he's doing, and you have to commend the man," Foster said. "The body is one of the most dynamic things ever, and the mind - James' mindset is ridiculous. And also, his nickname too - it's Gator... Gator don't need no spot."
Foster also provided an update on the stinger that he has been dealing with.
"Stingers are kind of tricky," Foster said. "It's one of those things that if you hop right back in, then- it happens because the nerve gets pinched- so if you continue to pinch it, then it can become a problem. So rest was one of the main things I had to do, and I had to go see Dr. [Joseph] Maroon in Pittsburgh... he checked me out, all my nerves were good. We did a couple things in rehab and it's just one of those things where you have to rest it and let the nerve calm down."
