Sean Rodriguez: Wants To Contribute In Any Way Possible

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Bob Pompeani had the chance to catch up with Pirates infielder Sean Rodriguez on his show Saturday. Rodriguez talked about his ability to play multiple positions.

"It's something I bring to the table and I want to obviously be able to be used so that I can contribute in any way, shape or form, and whatever obviously gets me any kind of opportunity, I'm all for it," Rodriguez said.

Pompeani asked Rodriguez if he likes only having one game to decide the wild card since there is the possibility that the Pirates will play in the game again.

"I think I like it the way it is. I know it's tough, but basically, it's just telling you strap 'em on for one more regular season game," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez also detailed what happened when he was ejected during a bench-clearing brawl in Cincinnati.

"It's one of those situations where I felt like I was trying to do my part and just being a peacemaker the whole time, and basically it just got to the point where I just started telling the guys 'if you're not going to do something about it, stop talking about it,'" Rodriguez said. "Somebody obviously stepped in my direction and said 'all right, well let's do it,' and I guess that's when I got grabbed by three or four guys and pushed back."
