Feds: Man Retaliated Against FBI Agent Via Craigslist Sex Ad
PITTSBURGH (AP) - A federal grand jury has charged a Pittsburgh man with stalking and harassing an FBI agent by posting a fake Craigslist sex want ad that included the agent's current Florida phone number and address.
The defense attorney for 47-year-old Frederick Banks didn't immediately comment Wednesday on the interstate stalking charge unsealed earlier this week. A federal magistrate has ordered Banks jailed until trial.
Authorities say the agent investigated Banks before he was got five years in prison for a 2003 case in which he sold bogus and pirated computer software online.
Banks allegedly sought retribution by posting the ad on a Tampa Bay Craigslist site in June. The ad said the agent and his wife were seeking a male for sex, and prompted two people to call the agent.
