1 Arrested, 1 Sought In Connection With Fatal East Hills Shooting

EAST HILLS (KDKA) - One man has been arrested and another is wanted after a shooting in the East Hills prompted a response by the SWAT team Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the incident started at a home in the 1800-block of Fahnstock Street around 5:30 p.m.

Dersean Alberty and a few other men went to the home to buy marijuana. A few minutes later, Alberty ran from the home while being shot at.

Alberty was hit with multiple rounds and was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died.

There were five witnesses to the shooting. Four of those witnesses went back into the house after the shooting. One of the witnesses also became a victim when he was held at gunpoint by another man inside.

The witnesses heard police arrive and exited the home when the SWAT team showed up.

"They did what we call a surround and call out," said Zone 5 Commander Jason Lando. "They set up a safe perimeter so no one could escape. They got on the PA system, asked everyone to exit the home. After several minutes, four people inside the home came out with their hands up, they were taken into custody."

One of those witnesses, Raymon Harris, was charged with homicide after being questioned by police. He is also facing charges of aggravated assault, robbery and conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.

Meanwhile, an arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Deshawn Hall. According to the criminal complaint, Hall chased after Alberty and shot him several times from point-blank range.

Police conducted a search of the home and found two guns along with heroin, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
