You Need To Eat This: Station

If you're looking for a new place to eat, look no further than Bloomfield.

Station is officially open and oh my god it's so good.

I love it because the whole restaurant has a great vibe and the food is truly amazing. I mean, they got me to eat carrots and I hate carrots.

Said carrots were actually part of a delicious course of chickpeas fritters, kind of resembling a fried polenta with heirloom carrots. The mild and hearty carrots were a perfect contrast to the light fritters.

Something else worth trying is the savory bread pudding. I love the way they play with texture. It's so crispy and so soft on the inside – plus it packs a salty punch, which I loved.

And most of all, you have to try the chicken wings. These are some of the best wings I've had – right up there with the homemade ones my friend Caitlin makes on the grill (she makes darn good wings). They're slightly spicy, oily and super crispy and moist. It was hard not to just shove my whole hand in my mouth to lick off the extra sauce on my fingers.

They have some delicious cocktails too. I had the Zihuatanejo, a strawberry margarita with egg white and almond that's refreshing, but not super sweet. But I hope to try the Rodeo Cowboy, a bourbon shandy, next time I visit.

And be sure to finish off your meal with dessert. I tried a popcorn caramel panna cotta that's salty, sweet and creamy. It's has a great balance with the milky panna cotta, a gooey layer of caramel, all topped with crunchy, salty popcorn.

If you want to go check out Station, it's now open in Bloomfield at 4744 Liberty Avenue.
