Woman Killed In Butler County Head-On Crash

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A woman was killed after her car hit a dump truck head-on in Butler County Monday night.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. along Bonniebrook Road, just before Jones Road, in Jefferson Township.

"When we arrived it was a head-on collision," said Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Chief Chris Ballina. "Unfortunately, it ended up being a fatality. It's all under investigation by state police."

State police said the woman driving north on Bonniebrook Road appeared to have crossed the center line and hit the truck head-on.

She has been identified as Karen Risinger, 29, of Emlenton.

The driver of the truck, a BeaverJack Tree Service truck, was not hurt. The dump truck was hauling a wood chipper. The woman's car bounced off of the truck and ended up off the side of the road.

"The road conditions were dry," said Chief Ballina. He went on to say it was a "decent roadway."
