Penguins Deliver Season Tickets To Fans

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Penguins followed their annual tradition Monday as 11 players personally delivered season tickets to families. But one family got their tickets with a new twist, at CONSOL Energy Center.

The first thing the Evans family must do is get past "security." And nothing gets past Penguins goalie Marc Andre Fleury.

Five-year-old Cameron Evans is quick to point out that he stopped a penalty shot in overtime for his team.

"Security officer" Fleury is the first of many surprises for the Cranberry Township family. The "elevator operator" turns out to be Penguin Phil Kessel.

"We know they've done the delivery to people's houses before," says Jennifer Evans, mother of Cameron and 3-year-old Connor. "So we were thinking maybe they were doing something at the arena, but we weren't entirely sure."

Next, they meet the "receptionist," Kris Letang.

"We kind of thought something was up when we first got the call," says Jennifer's husband, Jeremy Evans. "We can't really tell you what's going on. We thought something was up. But nothing like this."

Certainly nothing like visiting the Pens locker room and meeting Sidney Crosby.

When the Penguins star heard about this year's twist on ticket delivery, he says he was, "Surprised. I was so used to the routine of going door-to-door. But I like the idea. I think it's unique, and kind of a different feel. Hopefully, something they're still surprised at. I think that's the fun of it."
