Supermoon Lunar Eclipse Seen In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It was good news for star gazers, as the cloudy skies opened up for a few minutes.

Some were able to catch the lunar eclipse in addition to a supermoon.

According to NASA, it's the first time both have occurred at the same time in 30 years.

For those of us on the East Coast, the total eclipse started around 10:11 p.m. Although, NASA says the eclipse began casting its shadow after 8 p.m.

A supermoon lunar eclipse hasn't happened since 1982. The next one won't happen until the year 2033.
