Cat Survives Being Shot With Arrow, Cops Looking For Suspect

PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police in Westmoreland County are investigating after a cat was shot with an arrow.

According to police, "Buster" the Bengal cat was found along Oakford Park Road in Jeannette with an arrow protruding from its cheek.

Buster has since undergone two surgeries at the Pittsburgh East Animal Hospital. The arrow has been removed and the cat is expected to survive.

"Buster is fine. The arrow did not penetrate any vital organs," said Dr. Jeff Pope.

The X-ray shows exactly what happened, and Buster also avoided getting hit by passing vehicles as he lay in the road.

Police are currently investigating the incident.

"The arrow was stuck out of the cat but the cat appeared to have no external bleeding," said Penn Township officer Joe Lewis.

No other information has been released at this time.

Veterinarians say Buster sounds good, and looks good considering what he has gone through.

He's expected to be on antibiotics for a couple weeks, but is expected to go home tonight.
