Fallen Ligonier Twp. Officer's Widow, K-9 March In Fort Ligonier Days Parade

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - There was a bittersweet appearance at Westmoreland County's Fort Ligonier Days Saturday morning.

Lt. Eric Eslary's widow, Mary Beth, and his K-9 dog, Blek, were in the parade.

On May 5, Eslary, 40, was killed when his patrol SUV was hit by a van driving the wrong way on Route 30.

Blek was officially retired from the force in August. Eslary's badge number was also retired.

According to search warrant paperwork, four first responders reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on the breath of the suspect, Clair Fink III.

Fink has been since been charged in the crash.
