Beaver Co. Family Still Hoping For Answers Nearly A Year After Fatal Hit & Run

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- A young man riding his bike was struck by a car and killed last Halloween. Nearly a year later, and with no arrest in the case, the victim's mother is speaking out.

Beth Ann Banks wipes away tears as she talks about the son she lost.

Taylor Banks, 23, was hit by a car and killed along Route 51 near the West Aliquippa Bridge.

"We're looking for justice for Taylor. The whole family wants to know about what happened to him," she said.

Here's what the Aliquippa Police Chief Don Couch told KDKA last year:

"We did have a gentleman in custody. He was released, pending further investigation. I do believe charges will be filed, but we want to make sure the investigation is done completely."

The chief was not available for comment Thursday evening.

But nearly a year later, Taylor's mother says no one has been charged and says it's been miserable not knowing exactly what happened.

Taylor Banks was an avid bike rider and was headed to his mom's house the day he died.

She's now posting fliers to let people know about a memorial bike ride for Taylor this Halloween. It ends at the Beaver County Courthouse.

She says Beaver County Detectives are now involved in the case and that it remains open.

While the family waits for answers, Beth Ann Banks hopes whoever hit him will hear her message:

"You've taken our joy. You need to come forward and realize what this family going thru. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Man up!"
