Former Gov. Corbett, Out Of Office, Opens Up In Classrooms

PITTSBURGH (AP) - It's been nearly a year since Tom Corbett lost a bid for a second term as Pennsylvania governor, and these days he's sharing his experiences with students at St. Vincent College in Latrobe and Duquesne Law School in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Sunday it's a return to the classroom for the 66-year-old Republican. He was briefly a high school history and civics teacher in Schuylkill County more than 40 years ago.

At Duquesne, he's teaching "Law, Public Service and the Executive Branch" with two others, covering policy issues that range from the state's role in crime and corrections to health care.

A St. Vincent, he's teaching with another instructor this semester, but is making plans to go solo next marking period with a class called "State and Local Politics."
