Furry Tails: Pittsburgh Pet Expo Returns To Convention Center

The David L. Lawrence Convention Center will become an animal lover's paradise this weekend as the Pittsburgh Pet Expo returns.

The expo kicks off on Friday evening and runs through Saturday, bringing more than 200 vendors, including more than 20 animal shelters and rescues to the Convention Center.

In fact, the Pittsburgh Pet Expo is the largest pet expo on the East Coast.

There's lots of fun to be had including a pet costume contest, photos with Santa Paws himself and plenty of giveaways.

Returning this year will be "That Guy with the Birds," The Classic K9 Dog Show and a grooming competition.

There will also be, and this is pretty cool, the Three Rivers Dockdogs "Big Air" Dock Jumping competitions.

Pets who attend must be on leashes.

The Pittsburgh Pet Expo runs from:

Friday, Oct. 23: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 24: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 25: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you attend Friday, it's free admission for Family Night! The other two days, general admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors ages 55 plus, and it's free for kids age 10 and under. It's free admission for pets, too.
