2 Drug Suspects Arrested After Forest Hills Chase & Crash

NORTH VERSAILLES (KDKA) - Two men from New Jersey have been arrested after leading police on a chase through several local neighborhoods.

The District Attorney's Narcotics Enforcement Team had been working on a case against 33-year-old Abdul Daniels and 34-year-old Quimeen Williams for more than a month. Both men were spotted in Wilmerding Monday afternoon. When police tried to pull them over, the car they were in sped off.

Police say they chased the suspects for about five miles, going through Wilmerding, North Versailles, Turtle Creek and Forest Hills. The chase ended with a crash at the corner of Ardmore Boulevard and Sumner Avenue in Forest Hills.

An off-duty Port Authority police officer's car was hit, along with another vehicle. The off-duty officer had whiplash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officials say the suspects were throwing drugs and evidence out of the window during the chase. Police ended up recovering 20 bricks of heroin. They also found $3,000 in cash and $1,000 in counterfeit bills on the men.

"They may have been going back to re-supply.  There could have been another supply in the area. It's unfortunately, I've said it so many times, heroin is beyond an epidemic in this area," North Versailles Patrolman Norman Locke said.

Locke continued, "We were able to recover the heroin, some cell phones and other evidence along the road in Wilmerding."

Daniels was charged with drug charges, as well as resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.

Williams was charged with conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess drugs and possession with intent to deliver.

Both men are being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
