1 Person Flown To Hospital After Fire In Butler County

CONNOQUENESSING (KDKA)- One man was flown to the hospital for injuries suffered in an early-morning Butler County fire.

The fire started just before 4 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Evans City Road in Connoquenessing.

Crews were still working on the fire an hour later.

An unidentified man suffered burns due to the fire and was flown to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

A woman was also taken into custody after being restrained by state troopers.

The woman has not been identified by state police. Troopers restrained her on the ground near a car in the driveway and she proceeded to kick one of them.

She was taken to an ambulance, where she continued to yell at the first responders and at one point screamed, "he punched me."

Extreme measures were taken in the ambulance, including body restraints and a face mask.

State police could not say what charges she's facing or why she was initially taken into custody, but she is likely, at the very least, to be charged with assaulting the trooper.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross is assisting a family of four.

Two dogs and two cats did not survive the fire.
