Allegheny County Police Investigating Deadly Shooting in East Pittsburgh

EAST PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - One man was killed and three others were taken to the hospital after an overnight shooting in East Pittsburgh.

It happened at the Prospect Terrace Housing Complex, where police say one or two shooters entered an apartment and opened fire.

Allegheny County Police say there was a lot of gunfire in the apartment. Three of the victims rushed out of the apartment, trying to make it to the hospital on their own. However, a fourth victim died at the scene.

He was known as Trillzee in his music, but to family, he was Reno Wallace II, named after his father.

"When I think about him, I just smile because I know that he was on the right path," Nicole Wallace, the victim's cousin, said. "It just makes me feel good."

Nicole says the 26 year old wasn't just an aspiring rapper, his talents were well known, and she says so many people are mourning the loss.

"He has a family," Nicole said. "He has a daughter and a son, who loves dearly, who's birthdays were just yesterday and the day before."

"I don't understand what they're doing," she added. "I don't understand what makes them feel like they're the most high that they can take someone's life."

Allegheny County Police say it was about 12:45 Friday morning when the shooting happened.

"It looked like one, possibly two people entered the apartment complex and sought out this specific apartment and shot the occupants," Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

A total of four people were shot. KDKA was there as two vehicles were towed from the scene and later brought to county police headquarters. Schurman says East Pittsburgh Police initially pulled them over.

"Officers were very close when the event unfolded and were able to stop two vehicles leaving the area," he said. "Those vehicles contained people who had been injured in the gunfire and were trying to make it to the hospital on their own."

While police did spend some time earlier Friday interviewing witnesses, they're still trying to find out more information on who was behind the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
