Boys, 4 & 9, Hospitalized After Falling Out Of Moving Minivan

PENFIELD, Pa. (AP) - Two young boys have been hospitalized after falling through the open side door of a moving minivan in a Pennsylvania trailer park.

State police haven't released the names of the boys who are 9 and 4. They were hurt Monday about 3:50 p.m. at the Pine Valley Mobile Home Park in Clearfield County.

Troopers say a 42-year-old woman was driving while the boys sat on the floor with their legs dangling out the open side door. When she hit a pothole, the 4-year-old boy was tossed from the vehicle and the 9-year-old fell out trying to grab him.

Police say the minivan's right rear wheel then ran over the 4-year-old.

He was flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh, while the older boy was being treated at Penn Highlands-Dubois.

Police say they were still investigating Tuesday.
