Local Woman's Unusual Tactics To Find Boyfriend's Killer

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Munhall woman is doing something unusual to attract attention to her boyfriend's death.

Melody Morrison has put a sign in her front yard that reads – Justice for Geno – with her own telephone number listed.

Her boyfriend, 23-year old Codi Joyce, nicknamed Geno, died last September under suspicious circumstances.

The medical examiner ruled it a homicide.

He was at a house party, when there was some sort of a physical altercation.

Joyce died at a local hospital not long after police were called to the home.

Melody Morrison told KDKA TV News that she and Geno had been together for about five-years.

She said "all I can do now, is go to the cemetery and visit him."

Morrison said neither she nor Joyce's family have any answers , and "so many people know what happened, yet no one is coming forward saying anything for some reason."

She believes 20 or more people were at the party the night of the fatal fight, many of them, she said, were Joyce's friends.

Sources say while county detectives, and the District Attorney's office are sifting through evidence, and talking to people, some of those with relevant information have remained silent, or, in some cases they have now retained lawyers.
