Man Says He Was Moving Out West After Police Raid Home, Find Pot Growing Operation
INDIANA BOROUGH (KDKA) -- Police and other law enforcement officials say they found large amounts of marijuana when they raided an alleged growing operation set up in a home in Indiana County recently.
Now the man who lives there is facing several charges.
Joshua Mohoska, 33, says he was just about to move out west to start a legal marijuana growing operation when Indiana Police and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office conducted the raid.
"I broke the law. I was just trying to get out of here before I got into any trouble," says Mohoska.
He's now charged with running a marijuana growing operation out of his South 4th Street apartment in Indiana Borough.
"We seized approximately 35 marijuana plants," said Det. Sgt. Anthony Clement, of the Indiana Police Department. "They ranged from 3 to about 5 feet tall. A significantly quantity of what I'd call processed marijuana, it was dried and it was packaged in big containers ready to be repackaged for delivery."

It was an anonymous tip that led investigators to Mohoska's home.
Mohoska: "They said I sold two $50 bags of fresh cut marijuana."
KDKA's Ross Guidotti: "Did you?"
Mohoska: "Well, I did sell them, two bags of marijuana, but they weren't fresh cut. They weren't out of here."
Guidotti: "But it still was selling marijuana."
Mohoska: "Right, I understand that, I'm okay with that."
Police, however, weren't okay with it.
But Mohoska says while it seems like he was growing pot to cash in here; he was really getting ready to head west to Colorado where it's legal.
"I wanted to start them here so I had a leg up when I got out there," he said.
Mohoska is facing multiple felony drug counts. He remains free on $50,000 unsecured bond.
