Local Woman Lands People Magazine Cover

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Casey Foreaker never dreamed her weight loss program would land her on the cover of People magazine. The Cranberry woman initially put on pounds after a devastating loss.

"My father took his life, and I went to food for comfort," she explains. "I would just eat, and it would make myself feel better."

Such moments were fleeting. One day she said to herself, "I want to get more confident. I want to feel good about myself, have more energy, and continue my life differently."

Food choices changed when she joined Weight Watchers.

"We have some Greek yogurt, she says. "We have some beets. And salad. Salad is our number one favorite."

She also says exercise is vital.

"I do about an hour on my spin bike. Or I run four to six miles. And I do a lot of cardio. She says her inspiration is tacked on the wall.

"I just posted all of my People magazine pictures up there, to give me more and more incentive every day." She holds up a former pair of jeans.

"I've gone from a size 22 to a size four. I still have some days when I see myself at 220 pounds. So when I do look back at old photos it makes me feel, Wow, I really did come a long way."

And now, she says her husband and her children are involved.

"We have good snacks. And we also do exercises."

A final note. Though you may be on the cover, you still have to pay for the magazine.
