Widow Testifies In Deadly Arnold Brawl

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Erik Reed, 18, headed to Justice Frank Pallone's court room Wednesday to find out if he would be going to trial on charges that he shot and killed Donald Williams, 51, during an Arnold street fight in December.

Rosella Williams, the widow of the victim, was the lone person testifying. Through tears she recalled the night that her husband was killed, saying that it began with a fight between the Reed and Williams family.

"Young girl comes to door and says 'something is happening, you need to come outside!' It was a parental instinct to run outside to see if my kids are involved." Williams said.

She said in a matter of seconds it was a heated fight, and then Erik Reed walked up behind Donald Williams and shot him.

She said she knew immediately he was gone.

"I lost my daughter in 2012 I've seen that face. That same face was on my husband laying on the ground. I didn't need the coroner to tell me my husband was dead," Williams said.

Erik Reed's attorney said that the testimony presented much emotion but few facts.

"I could have gone on for hours with the inconsistencies, with the assumption, but that's not for this place and time. That's for trial," said Attorney Kevin Abramovitz.

All charges against Erik Reed were held for trial.
