Local Restaurant Celebrates Steelers Victory With "Burfict Burger"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Saturday night's improbable win was as much about what the Cincinnati Bengals did wrong as it was about what the Steelers did right.

One player in particular became the number one villain for many fans, who are now relishing his downfall.

There's no love lost here in Pittsburgh for Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

"With the hit on Le'Veon Bell that put him out for the season, to the low hit to Ben Roethlisberger in the last game, and of course, the shot to Antonio Brown," says Bubby Snider, of Bubba's Gourmet Burghers and Beer in Bridgeville.

Snider, who is also host of the Bubba Show on STAR 100.7, walked into work Sunday and the staff had an idea to serve Burfict up on a platter.

"The staff, they get all the credit for it, came up with this idea for the 'Burfict Burger,' cause it was the 'Burfict' ending to the game," said Snider.

The one-day special on Sunday featured sautéed onions in buffalo sauce, provolone cheese and onion straws in the design of Bengals stripes. It was available for $9.99.

This burger was not meant to glorify the linebacker. No, this was a chew 'em up, spit 'em out, although not literally, kind of burger.

"I think I shall enjoy it immensely after his misfortunes last night," said Mike Casillo, of Bridgeville.

"They let up those penalties at the end of the game. Burfict pretty much ruined the game for the Bengals," added James Casillo.

"There's no one in Pittsburgh that really has a soft spot for Burfict," said Snider. "So we thought to ourselves, what would a Steelers fan want to do? Eat 'em up."
