People Fight To Make The Best Out Of Massive Snow Storm

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - White out conditions and plows on the road marked a snowy Saturday in western Pennsylvania.

Westmoreland County got around a foot and a half of snow. Bus service was suspended for a short time, and the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport was briefly closed.

Truckers stranded by the mountains of snow had to hold tight, the road was too treacherous to keep going.

Yet, many made a point to keep a sunny outlook. A lot of kids were delighted to see the fresh piles of powder.

"We're helping each other out, digging each other out and having a good time with the kids," said Kim Bury.

In Morgantown, West Virginia, people tried to get a jump on the snow, but they couldn't keep up.

"I had to take my wife to work this morning. She actually works in Clarksburg, about 40 some miles south of here," said one resident.

People were shocked by the amount of accumulation, up at 40 inches in spots.

"Definitely the biggest snowstorm I've ever seen here. I think we're up to 18 inches this morning in my yard," said another person.

Although inconvenient, people were seen playing in the piles of snow.

"I love Morgantown when it gets snowy. Its beautiful. It's absolutely gorgeous when it gets snowy in Morgantown," one fan of the snow said.
