PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police are asking for help from the public in trying to find a woman who recently held up two businesses on Banksville Road.

In both cases, the suspect pretended to be a customer so she could blend in with other would-be customers.

She targeted a Sunoco gas station first, and then within 24 hours, she held up a Rite Aid drug store.

Emily Schaffer, a Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman, said the woman had the same M.O. in both heists.

“She walked into the businesses, looked around for a few moments, then pulled out a gun, placing it on the counter,” Schaffer said.

The weapon was not fired, and the suspect escaped both businesses on foot, fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.

She stood about 5-foot-5-inches tall with long red hair. She’s estimated to be anywhere from 20 to 30 years of age.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-8477.
