Man Charged After Boy, 2, Crawls Out Window Onto Porch Roof

BUTLER (KDKA) – A man is facing charges after his 2-year-old nephew was found on the roof of a porch on Monday.

The incident happened at a home on Standard Avenue in Butler around 1 p.m.

Police were initially called to the home because a child was throwing things out of a second floor window. Allison Kuhrt believes she and her husband may have saved the boy's life.

""He walked all the way towards where that dish is, he walked all that far like it was nothing," she said. "We were screaming 'no get in the house', and he's like 'I'm on the roof guys!'

Allison says her husband went across the street and knocked on the door .  She says he even opened the unlocked front door and screamed inside but never got a response.

"I called the police, yeah," she said. "I was like 'oh my God help him, help him.'"

When police arrived, they found the child on the roof of the porch.

Police entered the home and found the child's uncle asleep on the bed in the same bedroom. The uncle, Harrison Daniels, 26, told police he thought the child's mother had returned to the house prior to him falling asleep.

Officers also noticed a marijuana pipe and a grinder near the bed.

Harrison is now facing a list of charges including, child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The child was not injured in the incident and officers were able to bring him back inside safely. When the child's mother returned, she said that Daniels was supposed to be watching her son.
