People Urged To Clear Their Sidewalks Of Snow
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Wednesday's snowfall gave way to sunshine, but the aftermath of untreated sidewalks can be dangerous.
For those who have no choice but to walk to get to where they're going, the ice can be a real pain.
"They're a little bit dangerous, I worry about my kids falling, going back and forth to school, and I worry about me falling," said Amanda Stewart of Brookline.
For postal workers, the untreated sidewalks are like tiptoeing through a minefield. And it may result in you not getting your mail.

"I know who does and who does not now," said U.S. Postal Service carrier Darren Abate. "If it's dangerous, I can skip a house, that's part of our procedures."
In some cases the sun helps, but in some sports more work is needed. Some folks just haven't gotten around to it yet, which is why the City of Pittsburgh requires you to clear your sidewalk within 24 hours after the snow stopped. So officially people have until 9 p.m. Thursday to give it some attention.
Public Works has spent the day finishing up the streets and will now move on to steps and streets under the city's umbrella.
