PITTSBURGH(93-7 The Fan) – Pitt’s men’s basketball team is looking to rebound from a tough loss to Louisville, but face a tough test against Duke on Sunday.

This morning, head coach Jamie Dixon jointed “The Cook and Poni Show” to talk about the state of the team.

Dixon said his players were devastated after the loss Wednesday night, but they have to turn the page on that game quickly with Duke coming to the Pete.

“We need to respond,” Dixon said. “We’ve gotta win this game.”

Dixon said they need this game on Sunday to improve their NCAA Tournament resume. His team is 0-6 against ranked teams this season.

“We haven’t gotten it done against good teams,” Dixon said. “We’ve played hard, but not well enough to win. We get another shot on Sunday against Duke.”

Dixon said he feels that this team does have the look of an NCAA Tournament team, but a win on Sunday would go a long way to improve that.

“We know what we need to do,” Dixon said. “There is no, ‘We didn’t know.’ We know what to do. We’ve got to do it and do it for 40 minutes.”
