Brawl Breaks Out At Chuck E. Cheese's During 1-Year-Old's Birthday Party

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police say a massive fight broke out at a Ross Township Chuck E. Cheese's on Sunday.

Ross Township police were called to the restaurant off McKnight Road around 6 p.m. for a fight involving as many as 50 people.

Witnesses say it stemmed from an argument between two women at a 1-year-old child's birthday party.

Officers from Ross, McCandless, Shaler and Hampton Township were on the scene.

According to sources, the father of the one-year-old and his girlfriend were arguing outside the restaurant, and the girlfriend was swinging at the father. A security guard told the couple to calm down before they went inside. Once inside, the girlfriend of the baby's father then began arguing with the baby's mother, who was attending the birthday party.

Two people were arrested - a man for public intoxication and a woman for instigating the fight.

A spokeswoman for Chuck E Cheese's says there was never a physical altercation inside their restaurant. A statement sent to KDKA reads in part:

"On Sunday at our North Hills location, two women began arguing and were quickly escorted out of the restaurant. The disagreement never turned violent, and once outside the building, police handled the situation, so our staff could continue tending to our guests and parties. Chuck E. Cheese's does not tolerate behavior that may negatively affect our guests' experiences."

No one was seriously injured in the fight and Chuck E Cheese's remained open the entire time.
